Construction Activity
Contractors are advised to check Chapter 124 of The Codebook of the Township of Concord which sets forth regulations regarding construction activity. No construction activity should take place on Sunday or during the following holidays:

New Year's Day
Memorial Day
Fourth of July
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day

Contractor Registration

Article III of the Codebook of the Township of Concord requires that all builders and contractors engaging in new residential or commercial construction activities in the township are required to register with Concord Township. A license will be required prior to the acceptance of building permits. The application fee is $100. All applications must be fully completed, signed and notarized, and accompanied by an insurance certificate showing Concord Township as additional insured with the type and amounts of insurance specified in Section 82-15 of said Codebook of the Township of Concord. A plumber must be a member of the Delaware County Plumbing Council.
Home improvement contractors must show Pennsylvania state license.

  • New construction, alterations, and certain repairs to existing structures
  • Patios,decks & gazebos
  • Plumbing & Act 537 sewage facilities
  • Re-roofing - residential & commercial
  • Sediment and Erosion (earth disturbance)
  • Signs
  • Solicitations
  • Swimming pools
  • Tank installation & removal
  • Tents
  • Utility buildings (sheds)
  • Zoning Permit
    Residents and business people are urged to contact the Township Office at 610-459-8911 (Maureen Kelly, extension 104) to confirm that any proposed activity complies with Building, Plumbing and Zoning Codes and/or other municipal ordinance requirements to insure a permit is obtained when needed.
